"Without health life is not life; it is only a state of languor and suffering - an image of death."
Sure, but who actually lives by this?
Are you putting health first? When have a choice between working more for something tangible—money, success, power, whatever—are you sacrificing health to get it? Or are you making health your first priority then going after it?
I can say, sadly, that most people take the former approach. There’s a quote… let me see if I can find it. Aha! Here it is:
“Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
―James J. Lachard
Damn. He just obliterated society in a 4 sentences.
Should it be that easy? I don’t think it should be. Sure, there are exceptions, but they are just that: exceptions. The sad reality is that the majority of men (and women) fall victim to the four sentences you just read. It shouldn't be that easy…
Read that quote again and think about how it might apply to your life. If you don’t like something, instead of trying to rationalize it, make a change.
That’s about all I'll say today.
