Health Tip Of The Week: Use multitasking cautiously.
Life demands we multitask to some degree — hey, even right now, you're breathing while reading — but too much multitasking can be problematic. Studies have shown that multitasking reduces productivity by 40% and can lower I.Q. and create brain damage.
When we think we're multitasking, we often need to do more than two things at once, but instead, individual actions in rapid succession. This reduces efficiency and performance because your brain can only focus on one thing simultaneously. The constant interruption in our brains causes unnecessary stress and reduces reaction time.
Try to focus on one task at a time, accomplish it, and then move on to the next.
