The Wild Newsletter – This will be your last week at this age
Dear Wildling,
Stories. You tell yourself stories about your life, your body, your results, your friends, your family, your relationships, everything. We all do it. It’s part of the human experience, but stories they are. You might interchange “stories” with “opinions” to better understand what I mean. Stories are better, though, because it helps us see the things we say for what they are: fictions. After all, the reality is neutral. Each day you wake up, there the world is, and it’s going to be as awesome or terrible as you make it…. and that will all come down to the story you decide to tell yourself today. The most important thing here is to become aware of the stories you tell yourself. Awareness is the first step you need before you can do anything about it—because you can choose the stories you want to write for your life. Pay attention to the words you use and the connotations you imply based on what you say and think of things. Even in subtle word choices will you find stories embedded in their meaning. Then, as you start paying attention, you can start consciously crafting a better story for your life. And what’s better than that?
